In this clip, Freeway Ricky reacts to BET founder Robert L. Johnson pushing for $14 trillion in reparations for Black people, and Ricky believes that it won’t happen in his lifetime, as Black people still haven’t been given an apology for slavery. He went on to state that Black people need a “revolution” of their minds and the way they think about money, and Freeway Ricky went on to discuss how people making a low wage could invest in themselves by reading books at the very least. DC area is 1200 a month 1 room on Average and this area is one of the biggest black community’s in the country, the median income in DC, Virginia, Maryland is 60k a year… the DC area is one of the few places including Atlanta were African Americans are very successful as business owners and working in general

60% of the white people I know arent making $37,000. They arent making $30,000. Not that there isnt disparities in income but there seems to be some notion that there are no poor white people. I was homeless and looking in dumpsters for food at one time. I lived in abandoned houses. And I wasnt on drugs. I wanted to work. Where I am from no one is immune to that. Poverty is the great equalizer. You arent so quick to judge when you have been on rock bottom. If you think there is white privelage in a dumpster or digging ditches for $8 an hour then you havent been close to either of those places.
the reparations need to be through education. Change the culture to promote saving money.
