If you missed #SELECTCON ATL, and you are a burgeoning artist.. that was a no no.  This year the music conference was held in Atlanta, Ga at Guardian Works a beautiful warehouse with a classic rustic feel right off the Beltline.

Overall the conference organized by United Masters and its’ CEO Steve Stoute, was the ultimate experience in an intimate setting, which created an atmosphere of learning and networking. Sounds cliche yet you had to be there.

With conversations from legends like Jermaine Dupri who discussed the standards between the industry now and the industry then.  He also touched on “singles” and albums even referencing Sexxy Red’s, what’s perceived to be lack luster, album sales.  Some people in the United Masters post disagreed with some of what JD had to say, but still the point was to stimulate conversation, dialogue, and educate artists on a greater scale.  Here’s a clip from the United Masters IG:

The Drop Panel showcase music executive and co founder of LVRN records Justice Baiden most definitely dropped some gems for artists. He talked about an artists content marketing strategy and being authentic as an artist:

Other panelists included Pinky Cole – Slutty Vegan, Justice Baiden of LVRN, Ronne Brown, and included a live broadcast of Ray Daniels Podcast, The Gaud’s Show.

Crown Royal sponsored really cool activations for the artists, like its’ Fresh Beats Studio that was posted out on the lawn. This was a full service mobile studio that artists were able to record a song to beats provided to them.

Bulliet had the spirits flowing along with some really cool 1:1 mentorship sessions with the artist Bosco, Jason Reddick of ASCAP Urban and photographer Cam Kirk.

Our team had a chance to interview United Masters emerging Atlanta artist Anycia whos’ buzzing single “Back Outside” ft Latto continues to pick up momentum.

We also ran into an Atlanta legend OJ Da Juice Man and asked him how he feels about the industry today.

You never know where the ATL Hip Hop Day Media team, Niko & Tribal Empress, may show up and cover next.
