ATL HIP HOP DAY

Usher Celebrated in ATL After Super Bowl Performance

I must say this Atlanta administration is not playing any games when it comes to recognizing its homegrown talent and the impact Atlanta’s music has had on the world.

In the past there has been some celebration, don’t get me wrong, by Mayor Andrew Dickens has, in my opinion, pulled out all the stops to make sure Atlanta doesn’t show a blind eye to one of its. most important sectors.

Firstly the strategic partnerships with Amazon are amazing and have helped him to not only honor 50 Years of Hip Hop in Atlanta’s own way last year, but now honoring Usher.

On Valentines Day, Usher started the day by being honored by the City of Atlanta and Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens with the Phoenix Award at the Black Music and Entertainment Walk of Fame near Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Amazon Music and BMEWOF also revealed an emblem for Usher on the Walk of Fame.

Usher’s Super Bowl performance featured  the likes of Alicia Keys, H.E.R., Lil Jon and Ludacris.

During the award ceremony Usher talks about Atlanta being up there with any other major city including NY, LA, Paris, & Berlin.

He said it’s “the United States of Atlanta baby!”

Congratulations to Usher!!

Even though Usher is an R&B artist, we can argue this is another win for Atlanta Hip Hop!
