We at HHS1987 are kicking off a new segment shining light on the role the DJ plays in the Hip-Hop culture today with our new series “In The Mix” and to kickoff this new season, we have sat down with Hoodrich’s own DJ Scream to discuss his new moves, where he has been and a lot more.

For over the past 12 years, DJ Scream and the Hoodrich imprint has big suppling the hip-hop culture with dope new singles and projects yet as we move into the fourth quarter of the year 2015, DJ Scream is entering a new journey in his career. Focusing on his imprints Hoodrich and HPG, DJ Scream spoke on his teams plans for future not only from a stand point of mixtapes but production as well. Once again recently providing the streets with his new single “Grippin’ Grain” featuring Big K.R.I.T, 8 Ball and Scotty ATL, DJ Scream shared with us how the record came together and what we can possible expect from his new project.

Digging into the teeth of the hip-hop culture today, we also discussed the role of the DJ in today’s music world and how artist and DJ’s relationship should work. Before closing our interview with DJ Scream, he also dug deep into who DJ Scream is outside the studio/club to get a scoop on what he listens to on a daily basis.
