We recently connected with Louisiana artist ProjectKidJay for an exclusive “Off The Porch” interview! During our sit down he talked about life in Alexandria, the violence in the city increasing, starting to do music when he was 9, jumping off the porch when he was 14, getting expelled from school for fighting, his mom passing away 2 weeks before graduation, moving to Houston for a year before moving back home, starting off recording on Bandlab, dropping his first songs on Soundcloud & Audiomack, beginning to take music seriously when he locked in with his manager, shooting a music video on a golf course, locking in with his videographer, reveals his creative process, the music scene in his hometown right now, getting more support in Houston, the inspiration for his new single “Who Is Him”, getting stuck at the airport for 8 hours when he did his “From The Block” performance, working with Lil Darius on “RaRa”, focusing on music videos & singles right now, challenges that comes with being an independent artist, goals, shares advice for the youth and much more!
