Rafer Alston aka Skip to My Lou spoke on being called by the NBA in 1998, and how he landed on the radar of NBA scouts. Skip noted his starting salary was $220,000 and that he was the first street-baller to go to the NBA. Take a look above.

The problem was with AND1 in Hungary way back that kids were not in the basketball saw first AND1 and they didn’t have the fundamentals of playing basketball…and they didn’t care at all…so they couldn’t shoot, they couldn’t pass, they couldn’t play team plays, they only tried to do these dribble sh*t and crossovers so lots of kids messed up whole games….so other streetball players in the 90s like myself hated AND1. Especially cos we watched lots of MJ and NBA videos.

Young folks might not know what Skip and the rest of the and1 guys did to revolutionize the game of basketball. Love it or hate it. They changed the game from your local parks to the league. A.I., Shamgod, Skip and Hot Sauce made 6’11 dudes feel like they had to have a cross over.
